Rehearsal Dinner Join us the night before the wedding (5/29)! This will be more of a casual cocktail party than a formal dinner. Think: tacos and margaritas! And you'll get to hang out where Krystal works - the CSI Miami lab set. I know a few of you have babies on board, and you are totally welcome to bring them. And try not to give Alon and Krystal's parents any ideas! NOTE: Be prepared for lots of oohing and aahing. There will be shuttles leaving from the Figueroa at 5:30PM Or if you want to drive yourself, the address is: Raleigh Manhattan Beach Studios – STAGE 24 1600 Rosecrans Ave. Manhattan Beach, CA 90026 view map Heading south on the 405: Exit Rosecrans Ave – West. Turn right at the end of the ramp. Go for 1-2 miles and turn LEFT onto Douglas Ave. Go all the way to the end of the cul de sac where you will go through a security gate: just tell them you’re here for Krystal’s party and they will instruct you where to park Then make your way to Stage 24. We’ll have some signs up to help you find the stage. Child Care Email Krystal (krystalpsu@hotmail.com) if you need child care the night of the wedding so she will know how many babysitters to shoot for. She and her fab wedding planner are working on securing a few babysitters. So far, we're planning on them coming to the Figueroa so you can check on your little ones as often as you want. If you need a sitter at a different hotel, let me know! Day-After Brunch Join us in the Figueroa lobby for coffee, juice, bagels, pastries, and one final goodbye. We’ll be there from 10AM ‘til around noon. Where should I stay? Figueroa Hotel (top choice) The wedding will take place at the Figueroa Hotel. They have a pool, Jacuzzi, and beautiful Moroccan décor. Rooms are available at a special wedding rate. Call (800)-421-9092 and ask for Uno. www.figueroahotel.com There are TONS of other hotels in LA to choose from. Here are a few options that we recommend: Omni Hotel Downtown A short cab ride from the Figueroa, this 4-star hotel has offered guests of our wedding a special rate of $149/day plus $15/day to park a car. www.omnihotels.com/FindAHotel/LosAngelesCaliforniaPlaza.aspx Standard Downtown This funky LA landmark is super fun and hip and close to all of the wedding hoopla. www.standardhotels.com/los-angeles/ Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel Right across from the famous Chinese Theater, this hip hotel is in the heart of Hollywood. It's known for hosting the very first Academy Awards in 1929. Lately, it's known for its happening pool scene. www.hollywoodroosevelt.com Hotel Erwin in Venice Beach If you're all about the beach, this one is more reasonably priced than other oceanside hotels and so close to the sand. www.hotelerwin.com You will need to arrange travel to the wedding ceremony (rental car, taxi, etc.) and the ride can take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic. Budget Options: Stay Very cute and cozy little hotel in downtown LA. Nightly rates are usually under $70 for a private bath room. They have both rooms with shared baths and rooms with private baths, so be sure to get the kind you want. www.hotels.com is the easiest way to book this one. But you can also check out www.stayhotels.com for a look at the rooms. Hollywood City Inn Located near the Hollywood Walk of Fame and other Hollywood attractions, this motel has a pool and is definitely convenient, though kinda outdated! www.hollywoodcityinn.net or www.hotels.com Should I rent a car? That depends. You can get to the downtown area without one. Once there, there are many things you can get to without a car (like Hollywood and Universal Studios). The one attraction that would be hard to see without a car is the beach. If you do rent a car, we suggest getting one with GPS since LA is big and kinda confusing! Getting to Downtown LA without a car: From LAX: Taxi: LA City cabs charge a flat rate of $46.50 to go downtown. Super Shuttle: These vans will take you to your destination for about $20. There may be a few other stops along the way, but it's a good, cheap option. By rail: This takes less than an hour and only costs about $2.00. Take the short shuttle bus (Marked "G") from the airport to the Green Line Aviation Blvd. station. Buy your ticket there and board the little light rail cars toward Norwalk. Get off at the Imperial-Wilmington Ave. "Rosa Parks" station -- you will need to switch trains (easily done) to the Los Angeles (northbound) Blue Line. Get off at the last Blue Line stop, 7th St./Metro Center Station. Walk a few blocks to Figueroa. ***Be aware that the connecting ride from LAX to downtown passes through parts of the city that tourists might usually avoid. From Burbank Airport (a smaller airport that sometimes has deals on flights) Super Shuttle or Taxi As far as public transportation, there is a "Flyaway Bus" that departs Burbank Airport and ends at Union Station. At Union Station, hop on the Red Line and get off at the 7th St./Metro Center Station. Walk a few blocks to the Figueroa. What can I do while I'm in LA? Guided Tours
